| Volunteering
What do Volunteers Do? We have many volunteer opportunities at Green Hill and ArtQuest. The duties range from helping out in ArtQuest with tours and visits, to office and clerical support. We need volunteers for one day events like Collectors Choice or ongoing support in the Sales Gallery or the administrative offices. Please look over the below opportunities and feel free to call us at Green Hill to further discuss any options that you are interested in. | The Group
Tour organizer would assist our curatorial and education departments with
scheduling of group tours for adults. Our goal is to reach out into the
community and bring new audiences into the gallery to experience the exhibitions.
This job is great for someone who is organized and likes to work on his
or her own. You should feel comfortable dealing with the public and different
organizations. Our curatorial or education department will give the tours.
This job does not include scheduling tours for children to ArtQuest. * Flexible hours, ability to work on his or her own * Involves research, scheduling and confirmation of tours * Involves contacting organizations like retirement homes, colleges, garden clubs, book clubs, etc |

| The programming
volunteer position will assist the staff in bringing a variety of arts programs
to Green Hill visitors and the public at large. We are interested in showcasing
other arts besides visual and expanding our collaboration with other arts
organizations. This job has flexible hours and can be done at home. We are
looking for someone comfortable planning events and who knows the arts community. * Program cultural events like musical recitals, dance performances, poetry readings for Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons in the gallery * Research, contacting, scheduling and helping promote programs |

| We sometimes need
help with jobs on an as-needed basis. We will send out a general “call”
for help by mail/email/telephone and you can decide if the time, or job
works for you. * Stuffing, labeling, sorting of mailings * Assist with distribution of materials and flyers around town * Taking a shift at our booth at fairs and festivals * Help in the gallery as a monitor during festivals and for special events |

| Our research position
will help us preserve our organization’s history and help us serve as a
resource to artists, educators and collectors. Volunteer will maintain accurate
archives of our exhibitions and programs with the use of scrapbooks, slide
libraries and resource libraries. This position has flexible hours. We need
someone who works well on his or her own and enjoys the organizational and

| Taking photographs
with digital camera of special events, festivals, programs, and receptions.
Green Hill will provide the digital camera. This would involve 8-10 events
per year and can be shared with several volunteers. We need someone who
is comfortable taking pictures at events and programs in a variety of settings.

| If you like to
get your hands dirty, this job is for you! The installation of each exhibition
takes lots of hard work and is done in a relatively short time period. We
need people who are interested and comfortable with this kind of work and
whose schedule is flexible enough to handle our sporadic time commitments.
The installation of an exhibition is exciting and good for people who like

| Green Hill puts
on two annual fund-raisers and many special events throughout the year.
We always need help for these events. These positions are generally fun
for the volunteers while at the same time helping Green Hill raise money.

| Our Sales gallery
is an important showcase for North Carolina artists as well as a great place
to shop. People with art or retail experience would enjoy helping with arrangements

| The volunteer will
act as facilitator for the visitors (children and adults) experiencing the
gallery. You will learn the philosophy and goals for each of the hands-on
exhibits and how to interact with visitors to promote and foster creativity
and learning. All positions require a background check. You will be: * Working with a varied client base * Helping with the maintenance of the ArtQuest work studio * Developing projects and themed activities for the exhibits if interested |

Outreach volunteers
can have the choice of helping with events and festivals, or with regular
afterschool programs. With our outreach programs busier than ever, this
position will give ArtQuest staff greatly needed support. |
