Student Internships
Green Hill and ArtQuest use interns from colleges throughout the Triad area including: UNCG, Greensboro College, Bennett College, Guilford College, N.C. A &T, Salem College, Elon University and GTCC. These students are involved in a number of different areas including, grant preparation assistance, event planning, front desk support, educational assistance in ArtQuest and much more.

Internship Positions
  ARTQUEST FACILITATOR

The goals of the ArtQuest Facilitator internship are to provide opportunities for motivated students to gain knowledge and training working in Green Hill Center for North Carolina Art's educational interactive art gallery, ArtQuest. The student will act as facilitator for the visitors (children and adults) experiencing the gallery. The student will learn the philosophy and goals for each of the thirteen exhibits and how to interact with visitors to promote and foster creativity and learning. The internship will give students valued training in working with a varied client base, the maintenance of the ArtQuest work studio, the development of projects and themed activities for the exhibits.

The ArtQuest Facilitator will work closely with the ArtQuest Director to establish a plan for the year that complements the student’s interests while providing needed support for Green Hill Center. The student will have the opportunity to grow while supporting the needs of the department. ArtQuest facilitators work with the general public in the afternoons Tuesday through Sunday. Flexible schedules can be accommodated. Morning hours are reserved for school groups. Students wishing to work in the morning will gain experience with working with groups of children on tour. Early Childhood Explorations are offered on Monday mornings.

  MARKETING ASSISTANT

The goals of the Marketing assistant internship are to provide opportunities for motivated students to gain knowledge and training in marketing, which encompasses many areas and operations of the organization -to gain valued training while providing productive time and skills for Green Hill and its needs.

Seeking a student to assist primarily with graphic design: working on ads, flyers, etc. for the organization. Knowledge of some mac programs including quark, photoshop, and illustrator preferred. Student will also assist with photography; taking pictures with digital camera and organizing files. General assistance often needed with marketing in such areas as: writing press releases, planning and designing brochures and invitations, writing calendar listings, articles, and PSA's, assisting with mailings (media and bulk mailings), updating data base of media contacts, calling for schedules of deadlines for publications, and assisting with website updates and information.

  EDUCATION ASSISTANT

The goals of the Education Assistant internship are to provide opportunities for a motivated student to gain knowledge and training in development, marketing, administration and implementation of Green Hill Center education programs.

The Education Assistant will work closely with the Education Director to establish a plan for the year that complements the students interests while providing needed support for the existing programs. The student will have the opportunity to grow and be a part of the planning of new programs. The student will have the opportunity to learn all aspects of our programs including: some administrative support such as establishing systems for the new teacher workshops, developing marketing strategies, facilitating educational programs and workshops, soliciting evaluations from workshop attendees and compiling reports, inventory and maintenance of the Traveling Trunks of Art, documentation of programs, assisting in gathering educational research.

   ADMINISTATIVE INTERN

The goals of the Administrative Intern internship are to provide opportunities for motivated students to gain knowledge and training in arts administration, which encompasses many areas and operations of the organization - to gain valued training while providing productive time and skills for Green Hill and its needs.

This position will work closely with the Administrative Manager and will assist in Membership, Development, Grants administration, Database Management and Event Planning.

  CURATORIAL INTERN

The goals of the Curatorial Intern internship are to provide opportunities for motivated students to gain knowledge and training in curating and presentation of exhibitions, which encompasses many areas and operations of the organization - to gain valued training while providing productive time and skills for Green Hill and its needs.

This position will work closely with the Executive Director and the Curator and will assist in all aspects of Exhibition Planning including, artwork delivery and pickup, installation, correspondence with artist, lighting, condition reports, etc.
