Portrait Wall Guidelines
Here is some information on the Community Portrait Wall which will
be featured in our next exhibition, Facing South: Portraits by North
Carolina Artists.

Submissions need to be exactly 5" x 5". If they are too
big, they may be trimmed down on the spot if the artist is willing.
If they are too small, they will not be accepted. The artists name
and phone or email should be on the back.
Submissions can be in any medium as long as it is flat (i.e. 2D).
We are installing the works into photo corners. So, if it won't
fit into them, we won't accept them. This means small stretched
canvases will not be accepted. Submissions that are flat in the
corners but have a texture built up in the center might possibly
be acceptable. These would be accepted on a case-by-case basis.
Each 5" x 5" portrait will be in its own window mat measuring
4.5" x 4.5". This means that a .25" border all the
way around the image will not be seen. Please consider this when
composing your portrait.
We will not accept emailed versions of your portrait.
Submissions will not be for sale, but we will be happy to give out
an artists contact information if anyone inquires about a work.
If an artist is not planning on coming back to pick up their work,
and they want it back, they must provide a self addressed stamped
envelope with PROPER postage.
All works may be dropped off from today onward and can be picked
up after June 1, 2008, when the show ends.
Show dates are March 22 - June 1 and our reception is April 4, 5:30
- 7:30.
Mat color will be an off-white. There are no guarantees as to the
placement of each work. Also, if we get a ton of submissions, we
will rotate in and out the works. This means that an artists work
may not be up the entire time.
You may submit 2 works if you like. If you would like both works
to go next to each other, please specify.
You do not have to be a Greensboro artist to submit however you
must be a North Carolina Artist (since that's our thing at Green
Hill).
