ArtQuest
at Green Hill Center est. 1996
ArtQuest, Green Hill’s permanent interactive art gallery for
children of all ages, is an integral part of the Green Hill
Center, echoing its mission of service to North Carolina artists
and promoting art awareness. ArtQuest has been our greatest
active fulfillment of our mission, enabling us to promote
art and share its processes with families and school groups
seven days a week.

| Fourteen unique
interactive exhibits/stations, created by North Carolina artists
and educators, include the Art Expedition, Architecture Corner,
a giant textile loom in FiberSpace, My Studio, Claytown animation
station, and our newest exhibit, Pablo's Place (created especially
for toddlers). The studio and exhibits of ArtQuest are filled
with a wide range of materials and activities, and provide
age appropriate, process-oriented art activities for all ages.
Mornings are reserved for school groups and early childhood
development activities. Afternoons are for families. |

ArtQuest
Family Night
Every Wednesday evening, ArtQuest is open free of charge from
5 to 7 p.m. Family night draws from all members of the community.
Carol Moses, MS, LPC, NCC, wrote, "As a citizen of Greensboro
I appreciate the Wednesday night free policy so that many
families can take advantage of this opportunity to 'play'
with their families. Thanks for making ArtQuest available
to all families.Ó |

ArtQuestMobile
est. 1999
With support from the Cemala Foundation and the Kiwanis Club
of Greensboro, we have deepened our commitment of bringing
quality art programs to all members of our community with
the ArtQuestMobile. We deliver the fun of ArtQuest galleries
with our unique pop-up exhibits and hands-on art projects
to make everyvisit from the ArtQuestMobile a memorable experience.

Family Place
at Greensboro Central Library est.1999
Family Place, a collaboration between the Greensboro Public
Library and ArtQuest, is a five-week program that allows parents
and/or caretakers with very young children (ages 18 months
to 3 years) to explore, play and "make art" together
at the library. |

Guilford Child Health Clinic Renovation est. 1998
Green Hill Center’s ArtQuest created off-site exhibits in
the waiting rooms of two Guilford Child Health clinics. These
hands-on exhibits foster meaningful educational interaction
between children and their parents with an arts opportunity
in a nontraditional "studio." |

Collaborations
Partnerships are essential in the fulfillment of Green Hill's
mission, allowing staff to serve thousands of children and
adults each year. A few of the most recent outreach collaborations
include: KidsPath of Hospice of Greensboro, YMCA, YWCA Teen
Mentor, Greensboro Life Skills, Greensboro City Arts, Tristan's
Quest, Moses Cone Hospital, and the North Carolina Art Museum.

Guilford
County School Partnerships
est. 1997
Community support and grants from the United Way of Greater
Greensboro and United Way of High Point have allowed us to
become active partners with our schools. ArtQuest provides
weekend and after-school programs, workshops, Traveling Trunks,
ArtQuest Mobile, early childhood workshops, artist visits,
and permanent art projects on an on-going basis. Impacted
schools value the benefits these partnerships provide. Some
of the schools include Hampton, Cone, Washington, Hunter,
Rankin, Vandalia, and Fairview Elementary Schools. |

Artists-in-the-Schools
est. 1980
Green Hill has been bringing North Carolina artists from around
the state into fourth grade classes of Guilford County Schools
which includes lecture, demonstration and hands-on activities
for the students to enjoy. The teachers' response? "It’s
the best program I have had in a long time." "Native
American artist Senora Lynch created memories that will always
remain with my fourth grade students." They also describe
the artists as being "enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and
professional" and having an "excellent rapport with
students." |

Traveling
Trunks est. 1987
Trained volunteers and interns present seven trunks of art
objects to schools and community groups. The trunks were created
to introduce art to children and adults of all ages. Filled
with a wide variety of art works representing the cultural
legacy of North Carolinians, the program promotes awareness
of the many artistic traditions of our state. By Many Hands,
designed for third graders, features a collection of multicultural
art. Double Meanings reaches a more artistically mature audience
with paintings and mixed media works that stimulate discussion
about how to look at paintings. Touch the Past consists of
artwork created by North Carolina Native Americans. Carolina
Clay is a collection of North Carolina pottery designed to
complement the fifth grade curriculum. |

Teacher
Workshops est. 1993
A resource for teachers, Green Hill Center and ArtQuest offer
workshops on creativity, art techniques and methods for the
classroom, and fostering a creative environment in pre-school
and home daycare settings. After attending a teacher workshop
on found art, one teacher stated that the workshop provided
"great ideas for use in classroom... (it) frees up the
mind of the teacher so new ideas for everything will come!" |

Artist's
Talks / Panel discussions / Symposia/ Performances
In conjunction with exhibitions, openings, and special events,
Green Hill offers artist talks, panel discussions, artist
demonstrations, artist conferences, and performances (readings,
dance and music). A video series was launched in 2002. |
