Paint-Box Adventures

ArtQuest’s
2008 camps are set to once again provide an exciting summer
of themed art activities for kids of all ages. Each camp combines
art with history, language arts, math, and science to create
a fun and meaningful experience. Kids will play, paint, build,
get outside, have self-guided time, through the course of the
day. And all campers will make an ArtQuest t-shirt!
ArtQuest provides snacks for all campers. Campers 5 and up should
bring their own lunch.

Big Back Yard |

| Bring
a big imagination and discover the world of back yard color!
Kids will make rainbow flowers and sparkling stepping stones,
whitewash a fence, build a backyard fort, hang a backyard art
gallery, paint birdhouses, and more! |

| Explore-Design-Construct:
City Lights |
|
| Greensboro’s
skyline provides the inspiration for this week finding the sparkle
in city lights! Skyscrapers will climb the walls of ArtQuest
and campers will learn about artists like Georgia O’Keeffe
who were inspired by cityscapes. Kids will build giant Kapla
block cities, paint very long murals, and put on a Broadway
play. We’ll even learn how Center City Park was designed!

| Sculpt-Create-Dream:
Country Tales |
|
| Explore
the red clay of the surrounding Piedmont with a week of good
mud fun! Campers will learn some great Native American clay
techniques to make animals, beads, and clay tiles! Stories from
long ago make for a week filled with hilarity as the campers
hear some classic “jack tales” while they go back
to the country for some good old fashioned fun. Campers will
make paper, books, whirly gigs, t-shirts, and more! |

Globetrotters |

| Campers
will explore art and colors from around the world in a week
filled with good friends and music! The campers will choose
their itinerary and keep a journal of the adventure. Along the
way they will make masks, weavings, batiks, bark paintings,
and more! Campers will also create a museum of their work for
their parents to enjoy on the last day. |
